New Beginnings
This story dragged a great deal, and I found myself wandering as I tried to pay attention to this story. If you have nothing better to do, then you might want to read this book. The characters left much to be desired.

To Justin, Against Christianity
Published in Paperback by Xlibris Corporation (15 August, 2000)
Author: Arthur Avalon
Average review score:

NOT by A. Avalon (J. Woodroffe)
First of all, this book has NOT been written by the great Hindologist,
Sanskritist and scholar of Shaktism Arthur Avalon
(Sir John Woodroffe), which was the reason why
I mistakenly purchased it. It is a contemporary criticisim
of Christianity in a dialogue form, written to a very limited
audience, essentially disgruntled Christians in
a Christian frame of mind, with no or minimal
reference to other spiritual traditions, except for
accusing Christianity to be `pagan' (term
that the author uses in a derogatory way).
For someone like me,
who does not belong to the Christian spiritual tradition,
is a totally useless book. Moreover, I found the way in
which the author deals with the Roman civilization extremely irritating. With no understanding or knowledge
of the immense profoundness of the Late Antiquity
non-Christian spiritual, mysteric and esoteric traditions
(e.g Neo-Platonism, Neo-Orphism, cult of Isis,
Hermetism, etc..), all
examples of complex synchretistic multi-cultural philosophical systems developed inside the
Roman world, the author throws low-quality
statemens against
the Romans in a line of thought that resembles
Hollywood stereotypes rather than scholarship. One of
his points is that Christianity is `old' because
it's Roman, and all what's Roman is basically
old and crumpled. According to him, now we have
science, and we cannot accept old tales any more,
like Romans did. The author believes in God however,

but it seems to me that he simply advocates to get rid of the `old' (pagan, Roman) stuff.
I leave to the educated reader to comment on the shallowness of such approach.

Tropical Dreams - An Avalon Romance
Published in Hardcover by Avalon (05 January, 1999)
Author: Jillian Dagg
Average review score:

Loved the setting!
The storyline for this book was okay. The characters were just "okay". I didn't really get into the storyline or the lives of the people. However, I did enjoy the tropical setting! Jillian Dagg does a great job with describing pretty tropical beaches!

Night Words (Avalon Career Romance)
Published in Hardcover by Thomas Bouregy & Co (24 February, 1997)
Author: Justine Wittich
Average review score:

Night Words
I found this book to be very boring. The author did a lousy job with sexual tension, and I didn't care about the characters. When it was revealed who Nevada's stalker was at the end, it didn't make a whole lot of sense. The author did a lousy job in explaining why this particular man chose to stalk Nevada and cause her life to be in danger. I found myself falling asleep during certain points, and it was a struggle to finish the story. I am not going to read any other books by this author.
